Ski and snowboard holidays in Soldeu, Andorra
Soldeu is one of the leading ski holiday resorts in Andorra and is located centrally in the biggest ski area in Andorra, the Grandvalira ski region.
Offering some 200km of mainly intermediate and beginner skiing, Soldeu is at the heart of the biggest linked ski area in Andorra, the Grandvalira ski region. Soldeu is located on the main road from France to Spain and as such has heavy traffic, as well as great access to the other ski areas in Andorra. Soldeu is lower and is less exposed than the Pas de la Casa ski area. The skiing in Soldeu, like all the Grandvalira ski region is best suited to beginners and intermediates and the resort is linked to the ski area via a centrally located gondola. Ski runs come back down into Soldeu.
The resort suffers somewhat from the traffic that passes through Soldeu, although this road also gives great access to the other ski regions in Andorra. There has been a great deal of development in Soldeu and some is ongoing; that said, Soldeu has numerous older and original buildings and just off the main route, there are some charming areas of the resort. The newer buildings are densely packed accommodation but retain a certain style and lack the blight of some French Alpine misadventures.
