Ski holidays in the leading ski resort in Andorra - Pas de la Casa
In many respects, Pas de la Casa is the prominent ski holiday resort in Andorra. It accesses the biggest ski area, is the highest resort and has the best apres ski. Located directly on the border with France, Pas de la Casa is densely packed around the lower slopes of the ski area. The skiing above the resort is mainly suited to beginners and intermediates.
The ski area at Pas de la Casa is part of the Grandvalira ski region. The height of the resort at 2100m ensures that snow is reliable and the extensive lower slopes are surrounded by accommodation. Numerous lifts leave from the base level of Pas de la Casa, whilst the kids learning area is located slightly further up the valley. The main ski area above Pas de la Casa is located in a wide valley and from the top point, the Grandvalira ski area extends first into the Grau Roig area and then further into Soldeu and Encamp. From the Grau Roig area onwards there is tree cover and better shelter than is on offer in Pas de la Casa. Ski safaris from Pas de la Casa are very possible and skiers from intermediate level up can cover large areas on pretty forgiving terrain.
Pas de la Casa the ski holiday resort is no beauty; it is located high on the border pass and is situated in dramatic if bleak surroundings. The resort is built right up to the edge of the slopes and there is a little charm about the place. That said, Pas de la Casa is convenient for the slopes and has good facilities, shopping and restaurants. The apres ski in Pas de la Casa is legendary with happy hour terraces lining the ski pistes back into Pas de la Casa.
