Ski holidays in Pal, Andorra
Pal is the closest ski area to the capital, Andorra La Vella and is joined to the ski area of Arinsal to form the Pal – Arinsal ski region. The Pal ski sector is best accessed from La Massana although guests staying in Arinsal can take a lift in from the Arinsal ski sector into Pal. La Massana has a direct lift accessing the heart of the Pal ski area, although there are no ski runs back to the resort.
The skiing in Pal is mainly tree-lined and has the feel of skiing in Soll, Scheffau or Ellmau in Austria or Megeve in France. There are a series of high altitude peaks that are connected by gentle routes between them. There is tree-cover at the top although it is denser further down. The runs through the trees are interesting and well suited to beginners and intermediates; advanced skiers and boarders have a few steep sections but there is little to really test the better skiers or riders. The link into the Arinsal ski area from Pal is weather prone but worth a trip as it extends the ski territory and offers skiing in a long and narrow valley down to the base station in Arinsal. There is a kids learning area at the base station in Pal, along with restaurants and the ski school.
