Ski holidays in the Arcalis ski station, Andorra
Arcalis is little more than a high altitude ski station with restaurants, tickets offices, car parking, ski lifts and a childrens learning area. There is no accommodation in Arcalis itself and guests arrive by bus or car and stay in locations including the numerous villages that line the route up to Arcalis. Ordino is the most famous of these are forms part of the marketing name for the Ordino – Arcalis ski region.
The skiing in Arcalis is some of the most remote in Andorra, as well as being the smallest area. That said, Arcalis offers the best snow and the fewest crowds of any Andorran region and the area has a real wilderness feel to it with little development in sight and some great snow bowls over in the La Coma area. Children can learn in the dedicated and enclosed area just next to the large restaurant at the Arcalis base station and there is a popular terrain park located toward the lower lifts in Arcalis. For progressing skiers and snowboarders, there is an interesting route around from the La Coma side back to Arcalis that can be done on green and blue classified ski pistes.
