Andorra La Vella is an unconventional ski holiday destination in the sense that there are no direct lifts from the area accessing the skiing. However, Andorra La Vella makes an excellent location for a ski holiday for those wanting to explore the entire Andorran ski region whilst enjoying great facilities and a real Andorran atmosphere.
With no direct access to the skiing from Andorra La Vella itself, the destination relies on the fact that it is best located to access all the skiing resources by road, with La Massana being the closest lift to Andorra La Vella, (which accesses the impressive Pal ski sector of the Vallnord ski region). Further along this valley is the ski area of Ordino – Arcalis. Taking a different route out of Andorra La Vella, guests can access Encamp and the lift that directly accesses the biggest ski area in Andorra, that of Grandvalira.
Andorra La Vella as a location for a ski holiday offers great shopping and dining, along with a centrally located spa complex that is open to the public. Traffic can be heavy through Andorra La Vella since it is located on the main route from France to Spain but Andorra La Vella has a real vibrant mix of Spanish and French regional influences.
